Salsa with Grupo Meridional

A first for us on Saturday evening when the carpets were rolled up and a few brave couples danced Salsa to the Caribbean rhythms of Grupo Meridional - with refreshments served by Salmon Canyon Cafe it was a taste of things to come... Thanks to Alan Simcoe and his band for entertaining us with lively well played music, both listenable and danceable.

Yes, the rumors are true...

Opening shortly (hopefully by the end of this week - 12th March) there will be a cafe at the IMC facility in Rolling Bay. Salmon Canyon proprietors David and Shawna will be hosting an annex of their popular Lynwood Center breakfast and brunch restuarant in our building. We'll let you know as soon as the opening is official - do come along and enjoy the hospitality.

In Memory of our friend Bill Trimble

Our friend and saxophonist William Trimble died this weekend, he was 72 years old, a highly respected and charming musician and teacher. Bill moved to the PNW just a few years ago, partly to rejoin his close associate and friend, new music composer from San Jose State University, the late Allen Strange. Those who were lucky enough to have known him or had music lessons with Bill, will miss him very much. Our sympathy and thoughts are with his family. You can hear a little of his music on our gallery page, playing saxophone in concert at the IMC over two years ago with pianist Brenda Tom from San Francisco.

When our site gets more up-to-date tech, you will be able to post comments directly on the page, but for now, if you would like to add something here, please send an e.mail to and we will post it (Comment may subject to some editorial if necessary for length etc):
