"Mosaic" Community Music Recital

On May 16th, students and faculty from the IMC joined with the Music Center of the Northwest at their annual recital, held at the Nordstrum Recital Hall at Beneroya. IMC was represented by students of Dave Carson, Steve Newton and Stuart Williams and a faculty duo with Kate Kralik (flute instructor) and Akiko Iguchi (piano instructor). There were three performance groups from IMC - a jazz quintet, with Arial Levari, Tony Hall (tenor saxophones) and Trevor Brown (bass) were joined by colleagues Phoenix Glendenning on drums and Lina Schmidt on piano, students of Korum Bischoff and Anne Pell. Hank Veenstra and Graham Mitchell were joined by their instructor Stuart Williams for a performance of traditional tunes on fiddle, mandolin and guitar. Akiko and Kate represented the faculty with a performance of Chaminade. Thanks to everyone who supported this project, and especially to Michael Alstad and the Music Center of the Northwest for inviting us to participate.
